It had already been adverseley effected by those before us. The changes we notice just means it's a lot worse now.

We have 10% of our ocean's creatures compared to the life there at the onset of commercial / industrialized fishing! Shocking.Saipan Writerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10030098267460841286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8822994319220795886.post-40939744925151149312008-08-26T19:51:00.000+10:002008-08-26T19:51:00.000+10:00I was selling Palauan fish out of the back of a pi...I was selling Palauan fish out of the back of a pickup about 20 years ago and manamko were telling me back then that they 'used to' catch those fish in the lagoon off Chalan Laulau

I'm amazed that anyone would even pretend to understand the complexities of an ecosystem as complex as an intertidal zone, for instance, much less the ocean it's a part of. And salmon? We still know next to nothing about most of their life cycle.KAPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15541898442936527367noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8822994319220795886.post-40050986024833758782008-08-26T17:42:00.000+10:002008-08-26T17:42:00.000+10:00Those places that "used to have fish" already exis...Those places that "used to have fish" already exist here. There are many places that used to have good sized fish, and clams, and octopus.. that simply don't anymore.

I miss Mr. Suzuki.
